Pretreating for Termite

Saturday they sprayed under the slab for termites...it was suggested since we are moving so much dirt!

Friday - August 28 - More Digging

Not much going on today as it started to rain in the morning. They were able to dig for about half the day before it started getting a little slick!

Plumber, more Footers and more Digging

There were quite a few people working on the house today. The plumber was putting in all the plumbing that will go under the slab.



The foundation guys were digging for the thickened slab under the load bearing walls.
They were also working on the front porch footers
And the garage footers.

Another guy was working on digging out the walkout and dispersing dirt.
The window wells were delivered!

Waterproofing the outside walls

They sprayed waterproofing on the outside walls today.

Beginning of a construction drive...this should have gone in one of the first things but somehow it didn't and the concrete truck got stuck last week and tore up a lot more than should have been...grrrr!!

Removing wall forms

Not too much exciting going on as far as pictures, Friday and today they were stripping the forms and cleaning off the outside of the walls getting ready to spray waterproofing on. Here you can see two of the three windows in the basement that will be the bedroom and office.

We have poured walls

Despite all the rain we have been getting this week, they were able to pour the walls today. Several severe thunderstorms hit between last night around 7 PM and this morning at 7 AM, but good news we're on a hill so no water in the basement!! Here's looking north...between the two bump outs (bay windows) is the front door facing East.

Basement Wall Forms

Even though it rained about an inch and a half last night the guys were still able to start putting up the wall forms today. They had already put several loads of sand inside the footers so they weren't sinking in the mud.

The boys and I baked some cookies and took over to the guys this morning so I snapped a couple of pictures, they were just getting the forms unloaded for the walls.






By the end of the day they had quite a bit of the rebar tied together getting ready to set the wall forms.

At our nightly visit we saw that they had dug some more on the basement and started putting in the forms.Standing in the garage on the north end looking south.
